This “lone tree in the lake” is Wales’ version of the Lake Wanaka tree in New Zealand. Here, the peaks of Snowdon rise in the distance. Like the Wanaka tree, this tree is a very popular among photographers and others. When we arrived at Llyn Padarn (thlinn paddarn) a woman was swimming in the water near the tree. She kindly moved away so I could photograph the tree with its reflection in the water. A couple that arrived after we got there walked into the water and had their photo taken next to the tree when I finished photographing.
